COACHING PROGRAMS

Rebuilding Us

Rebuilding Us is for couples who aren’t quite sure where they lost each other, but know that they’re unable to engage in effective communication anymore. They love and respect each other and want their relationship to thrive — they’ve just genuinely forgotten how to have productive conversations. This program offers 8 strategically created sessions which can be used over a maximum of 12 weeks.

    • 8 1:1 sessions that are thoughtfully planned, with “wiggle room” to cater to you and your partner’s specific needs

    • Worksheets to do in between sessions to make our time together even more productive

    • Access to text messaging with real-time questions, where you can expect to hear back from me within the day

Building the Nest

Building the Nest is a 5-session program offered to couples expecting a baby. This quick-and-dirty program offers couples the opportunity to keep laser focus on things expectant and postpartum couples worry about: boundaries, managing expectations, and communication. Building the Nest offers 5 sessions — 4 while pregnant, and 1 check-in 4-6 weeks after welcoming your baby.

    • 5 1:1 sessions that are planned specifically for pre- and postpartum couples’ most common concerns

    • Worksheets to do in between sessions to make our time together even more productive

    • Access to text messaging with real-time questions, where you can expect to hear back from me within the day

DISCLAIMERS:

*A-la-carte sessions are available only to couples who I’ve worked with already. This is because these sessions are more like refreshers of the work we’ve already done together, rather than starting from scratch.

**This is not therapy. If you’re navigating things like infidelity, trauma, depression, anxiety, or other mental health diagnoses that you believe are impacting your relationship, I recommend working with a licensed therapist in your state.

We'll work well together if…..

  • You’re curious about the role you play in your relationship

  • You want to permanently increase effective communication in your relationship with your partner

  • You’re motivated to change

  • You’re not afraid of being pushed out of your comfort zone if it means you’ll experience relief of these negative patterns that are holding you back from joy

  • You don’t mind a little humor from time-to-time

✹ FAQ

  • This is a very important question, which is why it’s right at the top! The therapy I practice follows one or more theoretical orientations aimed at encouraging you to dig deeper, explore the roots and history of problems, and dissect your relationship with family members.

Coaching, on the other hand, is far more directive and prescriptive. I have developed a program specifically catered to couples looking to deepen their connection by honing their communication skills. While I certainly incorporate my clinical expertise and experience, our sessions will be less of a “free-for-all” (meaning you dictate and decide what we discuss each time), and more of a guided conversation where I am telling you both what, specifically, we will be working on.

There is absolutely a time and a place for therapy — I will always believe that. But some couples feel like things are fine, they just forgot how to talk to each other, and they need someone to teach them skills. That’s what this is all about.

  • My coaching services are for couples who are:

    • Looking to increase effective communication

    • Are motivated to do the work within the allotted timeframe

    • Feeling confident in the emotional safety that already exists in the relationship, even if we’re working on making it even better

My coaching services are NOT for:

    • Couples in crisis

    • Couples dealing with healing deep trauma

    • Couples confronting infidelity

    • Couples looking to explore history or roots of problems in a deep way (that’s therapy, and it’s wonderful!)

  • I completed a rigorous 4-year counseling masters degree program with an emphasis on couples therapy, specifically. After graduating and passing my licensing exam, I was required to complete 2,000 clinical hours before receiving my license — this also required additional trainings, supervision and consultation with other therapists. I continue to seek out professional development and trainings so that I can incorporate as many research-backed methods into our work.

  • The good news is that you’ll have access to all the worksheets and resources I give you, so that you can constantly refer back to them when you need a refresher. Additionally, I offer a la carte coaching sessions available only to people I’ve worked with, which are another great option if you need further assistance.

Free Journaling Prompts

Free Journaling Prompts ✹

Overwhelmed by how the problems have taken over the identity of your relationship? I developed these journaling prompts to help you learn about yourself first, which will inevitably help your partner understand you better.

Hey there, I'm Ruby.

After earning my Master’s in Counseling with an emphasis on couples and relational work, I opened a private practice focused on helping people navigate major life changes and improve their relationships. Having spent thousands of clinical hours listening to couples share their goals and frustrations, I began to notice a recurring theme: couples deeply want to grow together, but often wonder, why does it feel so hard to get there?

And then, I realized I was hearing an iteration of an answer to that question over and over again:

“I don’t think my partner understands what it’s like to be me.”

It seems like such a simple statement, but it perfectly captures where things “go wrong” for so many couples.

Together — and in just 2 months — we’ll work towards reconstructing what good communication means for both of you. You’ll learn how to have productive discussions that don’t feel like they derail your entire day. And you’ll create a bond with your partner that feels solid enough to handle whatever the external factors throw your way (kids, job stress, in-laws, etc.).

HOW DID I GET HERE?

The path I took to working with couples isn’t what I’d consider “conventional.”

A bit more about me…..

My favorite way to stay connected to my husband is through cooking. We love being in the kitchen together, testing out new recipes, making tried-and-true favorite meals, and hosting our friends and family. I have 2 daughters who’ve, unintentionally, taught me what it truly means to “not sweat the small stuff,” and 1 dog we decided to rescue because he smiles like this
